O is for Outraged

"It is an outrage that 490 million people will have diabetes by 2030."

"Why should accidents of geography decide whether you live or die from diabetes?"

"Insulin was discovered 90 years ago, why are children still dying from diabetes?"

The International Diabetes Federation is trying to do something about these outrages. They've organized a postcard campaign, sending as many nearly identical postcards as possible, to show the President just how outrageous diabetes is. To convince him to speak out about our increasingly common non-communicable disease. The more postcards, the more impact we may have on his decision.

Going to this website, filling out my postcard, and emailing it to the IDF took me less than five minutes. Can't you do that too? You probably know several people living with this disease, but there are so many who are dying from it. Five minutes is almost nothing. It costs you nothing. The IDF is handling all of the printing and mailing. Take a little click over to their site and add your voice to this.

And have a wonderful holiday weekend!
